The Emerge team brought lots of joy to the residents of the Mahaica Children’s Home during a recent visit. The children received a donation in the form of clothing collected at a company clothing drive and a monetary contribution.
The home, which prides itself as a safe space for abused and abandoned girls in Guyana was chosen as part of the company’s community outreach program on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Emerge’s CEO, Heidi Solomon-Orlick, who recently joined the company, led the outreach activity. Heidi is passionate and committed to making the world a better place for women and girls by continuing to push for increased mentoring, training and equity in the workplace.
She was also a key organizer of the Women’s March in the United States in 2017. In addition to her philanthropy, Heidi is an experienced and innovative business development leader with 25+ years of global BPO experience working in a wide range of industries including Communications, Media and Technology.
While visiting the home, Emerge team members spent quality time with the girls where they laughed, played and shared stories with each other. Heidi described the experience as an emotional and life-changing one, saying, “The incredible spirit, strength, and resilience of these young girls 11-22 had an intense emotional impact on me.”
Emerge is committed to serving the community along with creating an impact on making the world a better place. The company will continue to give back to the home with another donation in the following quarter.
